Welcome to the Newly Updated Website!
It’s been well over a decade since the creation of brendaferrimanidreamart.com, and so it’s exciting to implement some new features that will infuse new life into my on-line sharing! This site is set up for blogging, so I hope that you will visit regularly and share your thoughts and comments on dream art topics.
I have been working at my Colorado Dream Art Studio location for 7 years now. Wow! The time has flown! Right after we moved in (2008), the stock market plunged our world into the “Great Recession,” causing a real slack in art interest and patrons. Many artists I know have had to get other jobs to sustain themselves during this economic crisis. It’s been a struggle, but interest has slowly continued to grow for my dream art during this time, which I’m so grateful for. I’ve opened my gallery and studio at least twice a year, (since 2008), for area studio tours. At least two thousand people have visited during these tours!
Also, during the past 7 years, I have birthed six new paintings, and have started and maintained a social network of 1700 fans, (and growing), on Face Book. I’ve become a part of Otto Rapp’s Visionary Tribe, and my artwork “Freedom Heart” was featured in the yearbook in 2011. http://www.blurb.com/books/1732179-visionary-art-yearbook-2010-2011 I’ve written more dream related articles for Dream Network Magazine, co-hosted dreaming events (on-line), been on the radio, and made public presentations. I have felt a lot of inspiration, and have had many new creative ideas – some of which did not fly, and some were put on temporary hold (Amazing Women’s Dreams). It’s all been good!
My direction currently feels like coming full circle, back to what inspired me in the first place – MY OWN DREAMS. I will be writing a couple of books featuring the art that I’ve already created and some new ones that will be added here over the course of 2015. I plan to make more public appearances and presentations.
I will continue to add to the project “Amazing Women’s Dreams,” so please keep following the progress! The next project will be Polly Leftofsky’s dream that’s included in her book “3mph-The Adventures of One Woman’s Walk Around the World.” Her experiences, literally walking around the Earth (there are less than 5 people who have ever done this), are very inspiring!
Last, but not least, I’d like to encourage a look at my new video featured on the home page. The “Dreams Inspire Artist, Brenda Ferrimani,” video had it’s debut at the 2014 IASD conference, at Berkeley CA, when I was invited to be a part of an artist’s panel discussion entitled, “Dream Artists Talk About Their Creative Process”, chaired by Kim Virgil. Also on the panel was Richard Russo, Sheila Asato, and Monica Del Bosque. Each artist had 20 minutes to share their art. Richard, Sheila, and Monica are all fabulously gifted and creative people, and so it was an honor to be with them and share my process.
I would like to give thanks and credit to, Christine Anderson, who was the videographer for this project. She has worked for PBS for years and so brought considerable knowledge, skill, and talent to the formidable task of filming, editing, and some pretty crafty use of storytelling, in multilayers, which you will really enjoy when you view the video.
If you are reading this “Studio Update,” you are most likely one of those really “beautiful people”, who follow my work, and make me feel supported out there. THANK YOU for your continued interest and backing!
